Source control information being present in PV used to be a hard requirement
for bitbake to operate correctly. Now that hashes are a required part of task
stamps, this requirement no longer exists.
This means we can defer the hash pieces to PKGV and simplify PV.
Use new bitbake fetcher API to inject the source revisions directly into the hash
allowing removal of some horrible code from base.bbclass and avoiding any hardcoding
about how SRCREV may or may not be used.
Use that API to object the string to append to PKGV and append that directly.
The user visible effect of this change is that PV will no longer have revision
information in it and this will now be appended to PV through PKGV when the
packages are written. Since PV is used in STAMP and WORKDIR, users will see
small directory naming and stamp naming changes.
This will mean that sstate reuse through hash equivalence where the source
revision changes but the output does not will become possible as the sstate
naming will become less specific and no longer contain the revision.
The SRCPV variable will no longer be needed in PV and is effectively now just
a null operation. Usage can be removed over time.

The recommendation from server maintainers is that the https protocol
is both faster and more reliable than the dedicated git protocol at this point.
Switch to it where possible.

There is uncertainty about the default branch name in git going forward.
To try and cover the different possible outcomes, add branch names to all
git:// and gitsm:// SRC_URI entries.
This update was made with the script added to contrib in this patch which
aims to help others convert other layers.

The temp file name may contain "_" characters. Switch to a temporary directory
and a fixed filename to avoid this to avoid errors like:
bb.data_smart.ExpansionError: Failure expanding variable PN, expression was
${@bb.parse.vars_from_file(d.getVar('FILE', False),d)[0] or 'defaultpkgname'}
which triggered exception ParseError:
ParseError in /tmp/tmpd_f2__to.bb: Unable to generate default variables from
filename (too many underscores)

This adds SPDX license headers in place of the wide assortment of things
currently in our script headers. We default to GPL-2.0-only except for the
oeqa code where it was clearly submitted and marked as MIT on the most part
or some scripts which had the "or later" GPL versioning.
The patch also drops other obsolete bits of file headers where they were
encoountered such as editor modelines, obsolete maintainer information or
the phrase "All rights reserved" which is now obsolete and not required in
copyright headers (in this case its actually confusing for licensing as all
rights were not reserved).
More work is needed for OE-Core but this takes care of the bulk of the scripts
and meta/lib directories.
The top level LICENSE files are tweaked to match the new structure and the
SPDX naming.

These IDs refer to testopia which we're no longer using. We would now use the test
names to definitively reference tests and the IDs can be dropped, along with their
supporting code.

Add an automated test to exercise that fetching a git: recipe...
1) works over git without mirrors
2) fails without git connectivity or mirrors
3) works without git connectivity but with a mirror
(2) is done by setting GIT_PROXY_COMMAND to 'false' which should break any git
network operations.
