| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Some of them were introduced by mass-removal of S = WORKDIR/git assignments; rather than try to fix up (or redo) just these, I've run this sed command over the whole tree: sed -i -z -E 's/([ \t\f\v\r]*\n){3,}/\n\n/g' `find . -name *.bb -o -name *.inc` The rationale is that more than one empty line is wasting vertical screen space, and does nothing for readability. * meta: remove S in recipes that fetch from git via setting ↵Alexander Kanavin2025-06-201-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | BB_GIT_DEFAULT_DESTSUFFIX Removing all the S = ${WORKDIR}/git assignments works because BB_GIT_DEFAULT_DESTSUFFIX is set to match S from bitbake.conf (which itself is set to match typical tarball releases). A few recipes are setting S to a sub-directory of the git tree and need to be adjusted accordingly. bzip2 recipe is fetching a tarball and separately cloning tests; adjust the recipe to put the latter into 'bzip2-tests', instead of 'git'. devupstream.bbclass no longer needs to rewrite S, and is adjusted accordingly. Adjust scripts/lib/recipetool/append.py to not hardcode 'git' as unpack destination. Adjust kernel-yocto.bbclass to use the git unpack variable instead of hardcoding 'git' (there's also removal of repetition of string constants and a correction of workdir/unpackdir mismatch in one of the if-else branches). Ensure build-appliance-image recipe does not use 'git' as checkout directory for poky repo, but rather explicitly name it 'poky'. Ensure reproducible.py code that looks for git repositories does not hardcode 'git' but uses the destination set by BB_GIT_DEFAULT_DESTSUFFIX. Ensure recipetool does not write out unneeded S settings into newly created recipes that fetch from git. Adjust selftest to not hardcode 'git' as unpack directory. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | CVE-2025-47268 ping in iputils through 20240905 allows a denial of service (application error or incorrect data collection) via a crafted ICMP Echo Reply packet, because of a signed 64-bit integer overflow in timestamp multiplication. That is the maximum the Linux kernel supports. - Include pre-generated man pages & HTML docs in dist tarballs. * iputils: splitting the ping6 as a packageXiangyu Chen2024-04-231-1/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The iputils merged the ping4 and ping6 command into the ping since the commit ebad35fe[1], currently, iputils ping support being called using "ping -6" or "ping6" symlinks. In oe-core, there are two packages provide ipv6 ping, inetutils and iputils, the inetutils-ping6 doesn't support "-I" option to bind the interface, that cause some of scripts(e.g. LTP test[2]) which was based on iputils-ping6 fails. If someone or a package needs iputils-ping6, they can enable it in local.conf or add it into rdepends directly. * iputils: add PACKAGECONFIG for libidn and disable it by defaultMartin Jansa2018-03-201-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * it got enabled by default, but without the dependency on libidn in: commit 5997981fa2c22609a88b8cbb595dbf7758b2f7c2 Author: Alexander Kanavin <alexander.kanavin@linux.intel.com> AuthorDate: Thu Feb 1 20:02:08 2018 +0200 Subject: iputils: update to 20161105 * https://github.com/iputils/iputils/blob/master/RELNOTES.old mentiones that IDN was enabled by default in: [s20160308] and surprisingly the same in [s20150815] but there are no release notes for s20151218 version we were using until now, don't know how it really relates to [s20150815]. * but there are some issues with libidn as described in: https://github.com/iputils/iputils/commit/f3a461603ef4fb7512ade3bdb73fe1824e294547 so disable it by default. * fails with: | In file included from ping_common.c:1:0: | ping.h:39:10: fatal error: idna.h: No such file or directory | #include <idna.h> | ^~~~~~~~ * Easiest way to reproduce this failure is to remove libidn from gnutls PACKAGECONFIG or to use gnutls which doesn't have libidn PACKAGECONFIG at all (like the one in meta-gplv2). * First it leads to following QA issue: http://errors.yoctoproject.org/Errors/Build/53212/ ERROR: iputils-s20161105-r0 do_package_qa: QA Issue: iputils-ping rdepends on libidn, but it isn't a build dependency, missing libidn in DEPENDS or PACKAGECONFIG? * iputils: update to 20161105Alexander Kanavin2018-02-068-284/+103
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We've been using obsolete upstream URI for quite a while; meanwhile a lot of development has happened Drop all the patches: they are either changing the code that has been refactored, or are backports. Add a new musl fix patch from gentoo. ping6 and tracepath6 variants have been folded into standard versions. * iputils: backport patch to fix arping hang problemChen Qi2017-09-112-0/+45
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | arping hangs if SIGALARM is blocked. Backport a patch to fix this problem. Unblock SIGALRM so that the previously called alarm() can prevent recvfrom() from blocking forever in case the inherited procmask is blocking SIGALRM and no packet is received. It is necessary to make this explicit so that the default in bitbake.conf can be changed. * iputils: chmod in pkg_postinst are redundantSaul Wold2012-08-241-13/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | With pseudo the cmod in pkg_postinst is actaully redundant since the do_install uses install -m 4555 and pseudo is able to track that between the install time and the rootfs package installation, so the perms are correct.
